Mainon Schwartz

Mainon A. Schwartz is a legislative attorney at the Library of Congress, Congressional Research Service,  American Law Division. She has been in that role since 2018, advising both houses of Congress on a variety of constitutional law issues, including federal Indian law, laws governing the territories and the District of Columbia, and issues related to censuses and apportionment. Prior to that, Ms. Schwartz handled dozens of federal appeals in the First Circuit as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Puerto Rico. She also previously served as senior corporate counsel for an Alaska Native Corporation, a litigation associate at Cravath, and a judicial clerk for Justice Daniel E. Winfree of the Alaska Supreme Court.
