Isabella Ysebrands
During law school, Isabella served as executive production editor for the UC Law Journal and was a member of the UC Law SF Honor Society, Thurston Society, Pro Bono Society, and Tony Patiño Fellowship. She also participated in the Medical-Legal Partnership for Seniors Clinic for which she received the Outstanding Performance award at UC Law SF’s 2023 Social Justice Celebration. Isabella was a judicial extern for Judge Troy L. Nunley of the US District Court for the Eastern District of California during her 1L summer and later worked as a summer associate at Cooley LLP during her 2L summer. She also worked as a research assistant for Professor Alice Armitage, helping with an accelerator program for “justice tech” startups and UC Law SF’s legal tech courses offered through LexLab.
Prior to law school, Isabella received her BS in biochemistry and molecular biology from UC Davis. She worked in antibody and cancer cell production for a cancer diagnostic company and then for several years as a deputy coroner in Sacramento County investigating unexpected deaths.
